Stefano G Daddi, co-founder of the Philly Modular On The Spot, will be presenting Eldermoss MK1: experiments in sound simulating the germination of primordial moss in ancient arcane forests. Mk1 is a collection of live improvisations on modular synthesizers, and drone boxes collected into an album. The performance will be the live realization of those recordings.
Sandra James teaches Analog and Modular Sound Synthesis in the Music Technology program and oversees computers and technology for labs, smart classrooms, faculty and staff at Boyer College of Music and Dance. Sandra enjoys building stand-alone sound circuits and Eurorack modules. She studied Electronic Music with Maurice Wright at Temple University and attended Ircam’s Summer Academy. She studied Latin Percussion at AMLA in Philadelphia, as well as in Cuba and Panama. Sandra earned a Master in Sonic Arts from University of Rome, Tor Vergatta, a B.S. in Computer Science from Temple University, and a Certificate in Painting with a minor in Printmaking from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. @sandrajamesart
Jerry Kaba has been making music since the 1990s. Starting out as a bass player in punk and hardcore bands such as Kid Kodiak and Wrong Day to Quit. Currently Kaba performs solo utilizing Modular Synthesizers and stringed instruments to create dark experimental sound compositions. In addition to sound performance Kaba is a visual/performance artist and founder of Practice Gallery, AWFUL Wrestling, and Modular on the Spot.
